LoggLogg is an app for local logging of time, place, and the user’s own notes or actions.
This version of LoggLogg does not create user accounts, does not use login, does not use cloud storage, and does not send user data to our own servers. Network connectivity may still be used for specific functions such as obtaining trusted time or resolving a human-readable address. Using the network for these functions does not mean that the user’s complete log history is uploaded to a LoggLogg account or cloud service. Data is stored locally on the user’s own device.
1. What information the app can process locally on the device
When the user uses LoggLogg, the app may process the following information locally on the user’s own device:
- Location (GPS or approximate location)
- Date and time
- Text or descriptions entered by the user
- Log entries created by the user in the app
- Exported files or shared files, if the user chooses to export or share data
For time-related functions, LoggLogg may use trusted network time when available. If trusted time cannot be obtained, a log may still be created using the device’s local clock. In that case, the individual log is marked as untrusted and the user is warned. That status remains associated with the individual log and is not changed later if network connectivity returns.
This information is stored locally on the user’s own device. We do not receive this information, and we do not have access to it in this version of the app.
2. How the information is used
The information is used only for the core functions of the app, including:
- registering time and place
- storing the user’s log entries locally on the device
- showing history in the app
- exporting or sharing data, if the user chooses to do so
- using network-assisted services for specific information, such as trusted time or a human-readable address, when needed
The information is not sent to our own servers in this version of the app.
3. Location
The app uses location in order to attach position to log entries created by the user.
The device can determine GPS/GNSS coordinates without internet access. A human-readable street or address may require network access for address resolution. Location is used only as part of the app’s functionality and is stored locally on the user’s device as part of the user’s own records.
4. Data storage
Data created in the app is stored locally on the user’s own device.
5. Sharing and export
If the user actively chooses to share or export information, the app may create files for that purpose, for example export files.
When the user chooses to share data with another app or service, this happens on the user’s own initiative, and any further processing depends on the selected receiving service.
6. Third parties
LoggLogg does not sell personal data. Specific functions may use external services: network-based address lookup may send coordinates to the device’s geocoding provider, and trusted-time lookup may contact a time service. These operations do not upload your complete log history.
In the current Android version, address lookup uses the operating system’s geocoding service. Time lookup uses Android’s network time when available, with an HTTPS request to Google as a fallback. That request does not include your log entries or coordinates; as with other internet requests, the receiving service can receive connection information such as your IP address.
The Android version resolves the timezone from geographic coordinates using timezone boundary data on the device. It does not send your location to TimeShape for this calculation.
7. Security
Data is stored locally on the user’s own device. The user is responsible for the security of their own device, including screen lock, backup, and protection of locally stored data.
Website contact form
Separately from the mobile app, when you voluntarily submit this website’s contact form, LoggLogg Ltd processes your name, email address, optional company or organisation, enquiry type and message to receive your enquiry, route it to the appropriate team and respond. Your enquiry is sent by email through our hosting and email provider, Simply.com. It is not stored as an app Logg and does not change the app’s local log storage.
To limit spam, the server uses a keyed hash of your IP address with short-lived request counts and timestamps. The form does not save your message in a website database. Enquiries are handled in our email system; normal hosting and email service logs may also contain connection information. Please do not include sensitive information in your message. For questions about this processing, contact support@logglogg.com.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact: support@logglogg.com
9. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated later if the app’s features change, for example if server functions, user login, or external data processing are added.
